Grandma Richard’s Gingersnaps

1 cup butter 

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup light molasses

1 egg beaten

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
