Sheryl Crow: All in the Family
For Sheryl Crow, it’s all about family. The Grammy
Award-winning singer and songwriter credits her wholesome
family background in Kennett, Missouri, the small
town where she grew up, for shaping everything she
has accomplished. Her parents, she says, have been the
greatest influence on her life, and “I still make decisions
based on what they instilled in me,” she says. “We are very
close — they are still confidantes and advisers.”
The First Responders: The Uniformed Heroes of Our Communities
What does it take to be a hero?
Is it a cape, superpowers and a fast car? Maybe. Or at least this is the image that has been installed in our heads since we were young from comic books, action figurines and movies.
Ensemble Essentials
Build and Design professionals are experts on taking diverse elements and putting them together to create unique styles and looks.
Dustin and Britton Colquitt- Toes to Heaven
Dustin and Britton Colquitt glance at their phones to find those words before each game; a message fueled by faith and sent by their mother. The saying serves as a constant reminder of who they’re playing for. It’s not the crowd of thousands of people, but a one-man audience, watching their one-man show.
McKensie Garber- Crowned in Character
She entered her hometown for the first time in weeks with a new title to her name.
Leaving her crown and sash behind, she picked up a selfie stick instead. Circled by half her town decked out in Cardinal red, newly crowned Miss Missouri McKensie Garber filmed a minute-long testimony as to why her hometown of Hale made her the perfect candidate for the Miss America title.
Dayton Moore- From the Sandlot to the World Series
Dayton Moore had always dreamed of what he would become in the game of baseball. Now, at 47, his dream of playing professionally has taken a different form.
Party Perfect
The holiday season is upon us! It’s time to fill your calendars with parties, family gatherings, even your own wedding! Trying to find an outfit won’t be as daunting if you enlist the help of one of L•O PROFILE’s apparel retailers!
Guiding Light- Dana Wilkerson
Born in St. Louis, Dana’s family moved just west of the city to Montgomery County before her second birthday. Country living suited the family, and Dana and her older brother Chad joined 4-H and spent their summers going to county and state fairs to show their sheep.
Bombshells and Boats
Our boating-enthusiast models are big fans of speed on the water, and that’s what they expect from their watercrafts. Both the Seebolds and the Manires get behind the throttles for their thrills on the Lake of the Ozarks! Now that summer is here, it’s time to pull out the bathing suits and flip-flops and hop on a boat for the perfect summer lifestyle at the Lake.
“If, When and Why Not?” — Joseph Boer of The Blue Heron
The highlight of a trip or an evening at the Lake of the Ozarks is enjoying a gastronomic event. Many visitors and fortunate locals repose at The Blue Heron with its majestic view from the veranda at twilight, and of course, with its restaurateur, Joseph Hendrikus Boer. Joseph invites his guests in and shares stories about food, wine and spirits. He also attends to guest details. Joseph has worked to not only perfect delicious entrées, but also to make memories for his customers that last a lifetime. His sharing of life’s advice recently earned him a Missouri House of Representatives Resolution. His insightful conversation with a state representative’s two college-age daughters highlighted always telling the truth, and to never lie, cheat or steal. He shares this same advice with his new employees.
A Time to Reflect, a Time to Plan, and a Time to Execute — Mike Fiore
“There’s nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would still do the exact same thing. Nothing would change. It’ll be that way I’m sure until the day I die. — Mike Fiore, from Speed On The Water digital magazine, July/August 2013
A Patriot For Lake Patriots — Spotlight VIP — Homes for Heroes
“Heroes are everywhere,” exudes Mindy Molinar. The Lake is also a haven for homes. Mindy, a Lake of the Ozarks Realtor, unites the two with the “ Homes for Heroes ” program. This unique offering for military and community honorees results in monetary rewards for real estate transactions and more.
Weather Proof Fashion

With the weather being unpredictable this time of year, we urge you to keep those winter clothes in your closet that are versatile. Pick clothing that can be paired with a sweater to brave the cold or a skirt to enjoy a 50-degree day! Busy as a BEA! — Spotlight VIP
With a name like Bea, one may imagine a person who’s always busy. For Bea Roggy, it’s definitely true. Bea is short for Beulah, and she is a long–time volunteer at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. With more than 9,000 hours of service, Bea has made a significant contribution to Lake Regional,” says CEO Michael E. Henze. “I’m continually impressed by the dedication of our volunteers and the help and support they provide to our patients and our organization.”
From The Farm To Atlantic City — Miss Missouri Jessica Hartman
Jessica Hartman has done more in her first 24 years than most people do in a lifetime. And her journey from Colorado to Missouri to the Miss America Contest last September is just part of her persona. The 5-foot, 10-inch blonde was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. Her father, Gregg, owns a sod farm and lawn-care business and breeds Gelbvieh cattle. Kris, Jessica’s mother, works for a company that is redeveloping the Army depot in Pueblo. She has one sister, Danielle, who is a senior at Colorado State University-Pueblo, majoring in business.

From the Lake to the Luminous — Mike Hopkins
The first humans who will walk on Mars are walking the Earth today, says the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA. Will one be Mike Hopkins from the Lake? Maybe, but if not his feet stepping onto the planet, Mike is helping provide the path there.
