If you’ve never heard of Tap & Grill Lakeside Brew Haus, a trip to this “five-star casual” restaurant is definitely in order! Owner Tim Vogel had been calling the Lake “home” since childhood and decided he wanted to make some changes. He wanted a high-class restaurant on the water. Excellent food. Fabulous views. A connoisseur’s wine selection.
Vogel put his whole heart into it. He designed the building and put his own sweat labor into it. He has always been passionate about restaurants, and wanted his to be the best. Angus steaks. Fresh seafood flown in daily. Top shelf liquors.
Tap & Grill Lake Side Brew Haus opened in May 2015 inside the Historic Millstone Marina. It’s Lakefront and offers both outdoor and indoor dining. Get the best view of the Main Channel from the patio while sipping a premium cocktail, a glass of wine or one of more than 60 craft beers from local craft breweries.
The two large outdoor fire pits are the perfect spots to relax on comfy sofas during cooler weather in the spring and fall. The inside is climate controlled, allowing you to remain cool in the summer and warm in the winter. When the weather is especially steamy, cool off at the Lakefront pool bar, with swimup tables and cocktails right on the Lake.
Tap & Grill brings upscale yet casual dining to the Lake. Both guests who arrive on boats in flip-flops as well as those who arrive in suits for special occasions are welcome. Bring your four-legged friend, too, because the venue is pet friendly and even has a pet menu! You can usually find Vogel’s Border Collie “Border” in the pet area.
Chef Dominic Alberti has been with Tap & Grill from the beginning, and was previously with The Duck. From Tarkio, Missouri, he is self-taught, and has had the great experience of working with some world-class chefs during his 25-year career. He says his favorite style of cooking is Italian, “as I am an Italian who has garlic running through his veins!” Chef Casiano Couoh has also been with the restaurant since it opened, and came with Dominic from the Duck. He relocated here from Mexico in 2007, and he says his favorite cooking styles are Italian, and Mexican, of course!
People come to Tap & Grill for the great food, great atmosphere and great service, as well as great entertainment! Bands play on the patio most evenings. The location is convenient for West Siders, just off O Road on Dunwandrin, and also to those in Osage Beach and on the Gravois Arm, being at the 6.5mm of the Main Channel. And it’s certainly a perfect summer stop for everyone!
Some menu specialties include ahi tuna salad, meatloaf sandwich, blue moon burger, an assortment of steaks, seafood and a popular Cajun pasta. Vogel, who is usually the last person to see the food before it is served, will assure that everything is perfect!
