George Tucker, who has been the man behind Paradise Tropical Restaurant & Bar at the 24mm at the Lake since 2007, has opened a new restaurant with a completely different personality this season on the Bagnell Dam Strip. George says he always wanted to own a restaurant, and the Lake is a great place to live! So he combined the two when he bought Paradise and says it has been a great experience. General Manager John Civitate and his wife Judy were the original founders of Paradise in 1988. In 2007 Paradise was sold to George and Gregory Tucker, and John and George are now combining their talents at Tucker’s Shuckers.
The pair wanted to bring something new and fresh to the Lake, and help revitalize the Bagnell Dam Strip. So they decided to offer a new concept of dining at the Lake, with a menu not offered at any other restaurant. George came up with the concept of an oyster bar, and with the name of the restaurant by using the family name and, of course, the fact that one has to shuck an oyster in order to eat it. It just came out pretty catchy!
Their menu is unique, with fresh oysters offered several different ways, and 28 beers on tap! The food presentation is simple, with one favorite being Oysters and Scallops on the Half Shell. Other tasty oyster options to whet your appetite include oyster shooters, oysters on the half shell served several ways, barbecued oysters, oysters Rockefeller and Southern-fried oysters.

Other lunch and dinner options available include: the original Paradise Irish Nachos; Momma Tucker’s Greek Salad, Prime Rib Philly; Lobster Grilled Cheese; Kill Bill Pork Sandwich; Kona Coffee-Rubbed Filet Mignon, Ginger-Glazed Salmon, Fettucine Alfredo with chicken and shrimp options; Prime Rib; and Lobster Mac and Cheese.
Tucker’s Shuckers offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a second-story balcony overlooking the Strip — it’s a great view of everything happening on the Strip, especially in the evenings! They also have dining with beautiful views of the Lake.
Tucker’s Shuckers is open for lunch, dinner and into the wee hours, and even for breakfast on weekends and holidays. And since being at the Lake is all about unwinding, don’t put on a suit and fancy dress to dine there. They’re very casual, and very happy about that! Why? It’s the new cool place to be!
Chargrilled Sriracha Oysters
