The Great Book of Dining and Nightlife at the Lake of the OzarksLi’l Rizzo’s

Li’l Rizzo’s Staff

Unpretentious, fun and “Lake Casual” is the order of business at Li’l Rizzo’s. But don’t mistake this lack of stuffiness as anything else; these restaurants have been voted “Best Italian” at the Lake five years in a row, serve up award-winning wings and have received the 2014 Certificate of Excellence.

When it comes to food prep, two issues are prominent: freshness and sustainability. Key ingredients are sourced from local vendors including The Central Missouri Produce Auction whenever possible. The pizza is St. Louis style, thin crust with dough made from scratch. Only the finest meats, cheeses and freshest vegetables adorn the top. Because most of the recipes originate from “The Hill” area of St. Louis, you can expect to find many regional favorites such as Toasted Ravioli, Baked Mostaccioli, Cannelloni con Bianco and Lasagna, as well as several house specialty pastas on the menu.

But if there is one standout item on the menu, it has to be the House Salad. It’s cold, crisp and fresh — a blend of iceberg and romaine lettuces, diced red peppers, green onions and Provel cheese tossed in a red wine vinegar-based creamy Italian dressing and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy outside dining with a beautiful view of the main channel at the Lake Ozark location, only two miles west of Bagnell Dam Boulevard on Horseshoe Bend Parkway, or stop by our second location on Premium Outlets Drive between Dierbergs and the Outlet Mall in Osage Beach.

Happy Hour is Monday through Friday, 4-6 p.m., with great drink specials and half-price appetizers. Every Tuesday the award-winning wings are only 45 cents each, and Thursday is the $8, five-topping pizza special. Sweeten the deal by joining the Li’l Rizzo’s Rewards Program.

Voted Best Italian Restaurant at the Lake 6 years in a row.

The Great Book of Dining and Nightlife at the Lake of the OzarksVista Grande

The Schell Family

In 1984, John and Juda Schell realized a dream when they opened the doors of Vista Grande Mexican Restaurant. There weren’t many restaurants — or people — around at the time, especially in the winters. But as the area has grown, so has Vista Grande, with dining room additions and kitchen renovations through the years. The menu has evolved as well. It’s not just tacos and burritos, although there are long-time traditional favorites such as the Grande, the Pollo Lago and the chimichangas. Newer items also have been developed that have become new local favorites, such as the Diablo Burrito, the marinated pork tenderloin tacos and spinach enchiladas.

We open at 11 a.m. seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner. There are several dining rooms to accommodate groups of varying sizes, from birthday dinners and holiday parties to corporate gatherings. Happy hour is 2 to 6 daily, and the lunch menu is available until 4 p.m.
