Kristina Aust, Lead Designer & Event Florist, knows a thing or two about how to make a floral design bloom. As a young child, Kristina knew she was passionate about being creative in the arts, including floristry, pottery, painting, and home decor. From Columbia, Missouri she attended Hickman High School when she was selected to be among 30 other students to work her first job as a florist After becoming a Certified Floral Designer (CPD), Kristina became a Master Designer in floral design. Kristina found her perfect match at Buschs Florist & Greenhouse, where she combined her passion and her career into one perfect bundle.
Kristina boasts, “Buschs is filled with excitement and love. This company has allowed me to practice my full ability in all of the elements of design. She loves the atmosphere and joy that simple florals can bring to the community, whether it be for a birthday or wedding celebration; the fact that she is a part of someone’s story brings her delight and fulfillment. “Weddings and events have a special part in my heart, but Christmas and Fall decor is my passion. I love how I can walk into someone’s house and take their vision into reality.” Busch’s specialty floral designs are used for various events and activities. From decorating an entire home for a holiday, such as Christmas, to an eloquent bouquet, Busch’s fulfills every need for florals in someone’s life.
During Kristina’s journey at Busch’s, she has had many people who have helped her along the way and made a significant impact on her, but she has a few people in particular for whom she is grateful. “Owner, Reid Millard. As a businessman with many companies under him, he has always made time for me to grow and found the time to listen to my crazy and sometimes wild ideas. He has been there to back me up every time. I couldn’t be more lucky to have an owner with so much support.”
Being a strong part of the community has left Busch’s with a rich history and a bounty of stories to tell. The integral part the business has played in Jefferson City and beyond has left a longstanding relationship with a generation of customers that have passed on the tradition to the next. Kristinia recounts the wonderful experiences she has had with the Busch’s community. “With Busch’s florist being 134 years old, you get to meet with customers who have had a lifetime with Busch’s. We have been there for the happy times, even the sad times. You never get tired of hearing these
stories. Each one is so unique and interesting. They somehow fall into your soul and stay forever. This is how I fell in love with Busch’s Florist.” Having roots in a community is important, and Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse knows how to take care of the ones they love and help them grow.
