You may know her better as the mother of Three-Time MVP of Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII, Patrick Mahomes, Jackson Mahomes (internet and TikTok celebrity), and rising star daughter Mia Randall, but her friends call her Randi.

Randi Mahomes grew up in the small East Texas town of Troup, with a population of around 1,100. Family has always been important to Randi. She has two older sisters and an older brother. Her parents, until their passing, lived together in her childhood home, never having left their small town. With 56 first cousins, Randi has a large extended family who still gather for special events and celebrations to spend time together.

Growing up, Randi attended a small local school from kindergarten through high school. Having the stability in growing up with friends and family so close helped Randi value others and learn to make lasting connections, one of which is still her best friend. Randi believes that her humble, tight-knit town and her parents made her the woman she is today.

After high school, Randi met Patricks father. She had no idea that her future husband was a star athlete who played professional baseball. They quickly connected and started a family. Married life with a professional baseball player is a hard existence, and it took a toll on their relationship,
which led to divorce. True to Randis optimistic spirit, the two are friendly to this day. Randi never intended to be a young mother, but her faith told her that this was God’s plan. As a young mom to Patrick, with a strong foundation of faith, it was important to Randi to raise her children in the church. When Jackson and Mia came along later, she became stronger than she had ever imagined. She put her personal plans aside, grew up quickly, and focused on being the best mom she could be.

Randi knew early on that Patrick was meant to be an athlete, but she didn’t have a guidebook for navigating the journey of raising one. From the moment he could hold a ball, he found ways to throw it. Whether it was a baseball, basketball, or even a crumpled-up piece of laundry, he was always playing catch. She remembers the early years watching him play basketball, spending weekends at baseball tournaments, and later, seeing him fall in love with football. She saw his raw talent, but more than that, she saw his relentless work ethic and love for sports. Patrick always put in extra effort, whether it was late-night practice or early-morning workouts. As a mom, Randi was right there with him, driving to practices, cheering from the sidelines, and ensuring he had everything he needed to chase his dreams.

Her advice for all parents is to “Show up and be present in your kids lives.” At her core, Randi is still that home-grown mom living in a small town who learned there is a big world out there through her children. While she has navigated through this crazy life, she hopes the reflection of her journey is shared for other parents to help guide them through her experiences and lessons. Through living her life to the fullest and supporting her children, Randi shares her dreams, ideas, and survival tactics.

But what she didn’t have? A playbook. Like so many parents, she had to figure things out as she went—navigating the world of club teams, college recruiting, training schedules, and the emotional rollercoaster of raising a young athlete.

Through the years, she found herself wishing there was a resource that could have helped guide her through it all. Now, after years of speaking to parents who ask her the same questions-“What do I do? How do I navigate this?” — shes created precisely that.
