Mark Spears, managing partner of 1932 Reserve, took an unconventional path to becoming a prominent restaurateur at Lake of the Ozarks. Before opening 1932 Reserve, Sushi by R, and Driftwood Kitchen & Butcher, Spears honed his leadership skills as an All-American college soccer goalie, later playing professionally for the Kansas City Wizards, the Indiana Blast, and Derry City FC in Ireland.
Dees first laid eyes on the truck in 2015 — and he knew he had to have it. He made an offer on the spot, but the owner wasn’t ready to let it go. Dees waited. Five years later, in 2020, his patience finally paid off when he was able to track down the same owner and seal the deal.

THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS POLICEMAN’S BALL, hosted by Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 101, was held on March 21, 2026, at Margaritaville Lake Resort. The annual fundraiser welcomed community members for an evening dedicated to honoring the men and women who serve and protect the Lake area.
THE 42ND ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE returned to the historic Bagnell Dam Strip on March 14, filling the Lake area with a sea of green and festive energy. Floats, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and even boats rolled through the Strip as participants and spectators alike the spirited holiday tradition. From mischievous leprechauns and St. Patrick himself to creative costumes in every shade of green, the Lake community showed up in full celebration. With record numbers of participants and spectators, the festivities began early in the morning and continued well into the evening. The beloved annual parade once again brought families, visitors, and locals together. This event marks the unofficial start of the Lake’s busy season and celebrates the community spirit that makes Lake of the Ozarks such a vibrant place to gather.

The City of Camdenton is moving closer to opening its long-awaited community center, with new details and floor plans recently released. Currently under construction next to the Camdenton Aquatic Center at the city park, the 14,000-square-foot facility is designed to serve as a hub for recreation and community gatherings. The center will feature a full-size gymnasium with lined courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, as well as a walking track, reception area, and a large community room. Its flexible spaces will accommodate fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates, and aerobics, while the gym will also be available for event rental, tournaments, and other activities. City officials say the center remains on schedule to open in June 2026, with membership and day-pass options currently in development as the project nears completion. Construction of the center is being handled by Nabholz Construction.
