Ironically, the one place Melissa Hunter dislikes the most is behind her desk. “I do think that it’s kind of ironic. It’s my least favorite place to be. When I get tired of the administrative side of things, I just love to go around and talk to patients and staff and see what’s going well and what’s not going well. This reflects the essence of who Melissa is in the workplace. She thrives on being hands-on and creating in-depth relationships with patients and colleagues alike.

Osage Beach Police Sergeant Travis Morley is one of those extraordinary people. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and later Reed City, Michigan, where he graduated in 2003, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 1st Infantry Division. His service took him to Ft. Benning,Georgia, Iraq, and two tours in Germany. When his time of service came to an end, he was left wondering where his skills and experiences from the past years could best be applied He landed in St. Louis, Missouri in 2006, where he attended the Police Academy. After graduating in 2007, his path led him to Lake of the Ozarks and a position on the Osage Beach Police Force. It was there that he found his next calling of service when he was introduced to the world of special needs and disabilities through the LETR (Law Enforcement Torch Run) and Special Olympics.

Randy Scism, the founder of Marine Technology, Inc. (MTI), has built a legacy that stretches beyond high-performance boats. But according to Randy, the foundation of MTI started with a simple, yet powerful philosophy. “I’ve been building high-performance boats for over 30 years, and my philosophy has always been to create something that’s faster, safer, and more stable than anything else out there,” Randy reflects. “I want MTI to push the boundaries of design and performance, and that’s what we strive for every day.”
Dave and Suzie Spence are true Missourians who care for the state’s growth and its antiquity. As former owners of a historic multi-acre home in St. Louis, the Spences, after years as second homeowners at the Lake, are now full-time Lake residents. Uniquely, the Spences share time in California where they own a successful winery. Their passion for history, design, and family is evident in that their Lake of the Ozarks home is designed to be a lasting space for future generations.
